Dr. Luis A. Matos is a board-certified pediatric dentist dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care to children and families throughout Florida’s Treasure Coast.
Originally from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Dr. Matos moved to Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of five. While attending Boston University, he enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, where he served as a combat medical specialist (EMT). He later joined the U.S. Air Force and moved to Valdosta, Georgia.
Dr. Matos discovered his passion for dentistry after accompanying his wife to an emergency dental visit and seeing firsthand the difference compassionate care could make. During dental school, it quickly became clear that working with children was his true calling.
Today, at Stuart Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Matos combines clinical expertise with a warm, playful approach designed to help children feel safe, comfortable, and confident at the dentist.
Dr. Matos is not only a great Stuart pediatric dentist; he is a compassionate friend to all his young patients. He might act like a kid (and have tons of fun!), but he is an absolute professional whenever he treats your child.
His commitment to understanding the whole child also led him to found TC TOTs — Tongue Tie & Airway Center, where his work focuses on oral function and its connection to feeding, breathing, sleep, speech, and healthy development.
Dr. Matos has pursued advanced education through Tongue-Tied Academy, including live-patient training with Dr. Richard Baxter and his team in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as the Airway Health Solutions Mini-Residency – Pediatrics and Team AIR Coaching Program.
This advanced training complements his pediatric dental expertise with a function-first, whole-child perspective. When appropriate, Dr. Matos also collaborates with lactation consultants, speech-language pathologists, myofunctional therapists, feeding and occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support each child’s individual needs.
Outside the office, Dr. Matos is a family man. He loves spending time with his wife, his two sons, and friends. Together, they enjoy outdoor activities including sailing, biking, running, and archery.
